This year I dug up and old Cherry stump, it must have been there about 4 years and I have managed to salvage quite a bit of wood, I to am not sure how long to leave it before working with it to make knife handles. It seems ready and has some interesting graining?? Any info would much appreciated.smile/thumb.gif

images/icones/icon7.gif The Cherry wood has come along nicely and I now have tons of the stuff. I am thinking of turning it into a some kind of knife stand for the expos I will be doing this year. Although they are a bit rough and ready their some beautiful graining, and if anybody is interested I can let you have a chunk.

I have spent most of the winter collecting different woods for my knife making: walnut, ebony, olivewood, snakewood, colobollo, alder root. brazilian tulipwood ucaliptus burr and few more, the object being to be able to offer the most diverse range of knives as possible. Does anybody know of a good source of woods in Kent, I believe that there is a place in Dover, however I cannot find it.
